Abstract

We study Gaussian signals that can be used for radar signal analysis. They form an over-complete basis in the space of complex envelope functions and can be used for the expansion of an arbitrary signal. They are characterized by a parameter ϱ that enables us to improve the range resolution at the expense of the velocity resolution or vice versa. The relation between Gaussian and Hermitian signals is studied.
