Abstract
Under the assumption that strong interactions are locally gauge invariant, whereas weak and electromagnetic interactions are governed by another local gauge group, we construct a model that can provide an explanation for the Cabibbo angle. We also indicate a possible origin for the medium strong SU(3) breaking. In this model the structure of weak and electromagnetic interactions is in agreement with the Cabibbo theory.
