Abstract
Diarrhea is frequent in common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) and its management depends on etiology. Multiplex stool polymerase chain reaction tests (SPTs) for pathogen detection have been shown to be superior to conventional methods, however, its role in clinical practice has yet to be defined. We hypothesized that multiplex stool PCR results correlates with diarrhea etiology and histologic abnormalities in colon biopsies in CVID.
