Abstract
Abstract Suspensions of adsorptive or chemically reactive particles can give increased and/or sustained efficiency when used for gas scrubbing. Theoretical and experimental work on this type of mass transfer system has led to the development of design methods. Maximum mass transfer rate may be estimated on the basis that liquid concentrations of transferring species for adsorptive particles and reacting species for reactive particles are in equilibrium with the solid phase. The minimum solid concentration required to provide this condition may also be estimated.
