Abstract

One of the main problems faced in the present-day society is garbage management. The proper disposal of garbage is very important when it comes to garbage management. In public places like malls, parks etc. littered waste and overfilled dustbins should be taken care of by workers. But most of the time what we see is that there are not sufficient workers and the place remains untidy. There are many existing garbage management and monitoring systems. One is, when the dustbin is full a message is sent to the respective authority and they send people to clean the waste from the dustbin. Another one proposed for Municipality Cleaning Department is that, according to the message from the dustbins about the garbage level, the workers remove waste only from those filled dustbins in various areas of the city. This is for public dustbins situated at different places in the city and the workers can use their time efficiently for garbage collection. But still there occurs a cleanliness problem because of the littered waste. There are no systems to take care of that and most of the systems proposed are not that efficient and user friendly. The project proposed by us is a solution to garbage management problem in our country. Our project comprises of a smart dustbin and a garbage collector robot car. The smart dustbin has a sensor which senses the level of garbage in the dustbin. When the level of garbage crosses a particular level, it sends a message to the garbage collector robot. The garbage collector robot car moves to the dustbin and collects the waste. In the robot we have a vacuum pump to clean the littered waste. Our project is an efficient system to collect garbage from public places like malls which has to be kept clean always. By this method we can reduce possible human intervention in these public places. It is more efficient and user friendly than the existing systems.
