Abstract
Total Gamow-Teller strengths for both the isospin raising ( beta -) and the isospin lowering ( beta +) cases are obtained for nuclei when each bag of quarks is deformed. Strengths sitting in the low energy and the Delta sectors are obtained. If, as manifested in the EMC effect, the bags expand in the nuclear medium, then the net deformation of a bag must also decrease in nuclei.
