Abstract

The distorted-wave Bonn approximation is used to calculate the p- gamma angular correlation from several deuteron-stripping (d,p) reactions. One 1 = 2 and four I = 1 captures are considered. Optical potentials with rounded edges are used to distort the wave functions. In some cases the correlation is considerably changed from the pattern predicted by the plane wave Born approximation, and the distontion effects are strongly dependent on the direction of the emitted proton, and on the type of distortion assumed. Included is a general discussion of the theory of the (d,p gamma ) correlation. (auth)
