Abstract

The recent significant progress in realizing FD systems has opened up a promising avenue for increasing the capacity of future wireless networks. In addition to hardware design and signal processing techniques, radio resource management is essential in the design and implementation of practical FD communication networks. FD communications introduce additional dimensions of network resources requiring the development of new resource allocation algorithms. In this article we concentrate on distributed radio resource allocation, and show how game-theoretic models can be used to effectively solve the optimization problems in FD communication systems. Finally, we outline several key open research directions in this emerging area.
