Abstract

In most industrial applications, variable-speed motors are required, and the squirrel cage induction motor (SCIM) is the best option for these applications because it has a long-life span with less maintenance needed. The (SCIM) can be a variable speed motor by applying the indirect field-oriented control (IFOC) technique on it, because the IFOC technique can decouple the flux and motor torque control variables. In this paper, the flux control variable has been fixed. And has applied the FUZZY-PID speed controller to the torque control variable with a close loop control circuit. Has applied the IFOC model with FUZZY-PID controller of the induction motor using MATLAB/SIMULINK. Has achieved good speed control, good dynamic performance, less rise time, less overshoot fast acceleration time. It was found in the presented study the PID limiter has a strong effect on the dynamic performance of the control system, moreover, the result of reducing limiter setting value less than starting torque value is increasing in rising time as well as starting and settling time. In all, the FUZZY-PID controller with IFOC model will achieve speed control with good dynamic performance when limiting the PID with the nominal starting torque value.
