Abstract

This paper investigates the vibration controller design problem for quarter-car active suspension systems. An active controller is proposed by combining fuzzy wavelet neural network (FWNN) and genetic algorithm (GA). Ride comfort and some hard constraints, i.e. road-holding capability as well as suspension stroke limitation, are all taken into account during the design process. The GA, which can be used to solve various optimization problems, is employed to perform optimization of connection weight parameters of the FWNN. Simulation results and analysis verify that the developed controller can significantly enhance the ride comfort while guarantee the hard constraints.
