Abstract
Abstract Many excellent and informative books and papers have been written on the subject of fuzzy logic and its applications. For the most part, emphasis has been placed either on the underlying mathematical theory of fuzzy sets [1], or on providing a study into the ‘glamorous’ applications where it has been used [2]. This technical report provides a compromise of both areas, in order to give practising engineers a theoretical background of fuzzy logic along with an understanding of its role in today's electronics industry, and what all the fuss is about.
