Abstract A description is provided for Fusicladium martianoffianum . Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. DISEASE: Leaf spot. HOSTS: Species of Populus ( Salicaceae ), including P. afghanica, P. alba, P. ciliata, P. deltoides, P. italica, P. laurifolia, P. nigra, P. pruinosa, P. suaveolens and P. tremula . GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: ASIA: India (Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir), Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Russia (Siberia), Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. TRANSMISSION: Possibly by airborne conidia.
