Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Improvements in IVF success rates have largely been due to optimization of embryo culture and stimulation protocols; less attention has been directed toward methods to improve induction of final oocyte maturation. Normal ovulation is preceded by a surge in both LH and FSH. We hypothesize that modification of ovulation trigger toward a more physiologic process will improve the developmental competence of the oocyte as defined by fertilization and pregnancy outcomes.
