Abstract
This chapter presents a description of the nature of cancer. It describes the author's only research plan that was studies of tumor biology in Maine, at the Beth Israel hospital and at Harvard. The chapter discusses about how the author started his study from the Melanocyte at Tulane University. The chapter then moves to the author's study of the biologic forms of primary cutaneous melanoma and levels of invasion. The Melanoma Studies at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard and the Establishment of the First Pigmented Lesion Clinic is also discussed in the chapter. Tumor Progression, Dysplastic Nevus, and Precursor State of Neoplasia are described in the chapter. The years in Philadelphia at the Temple University while teaching general pathology and at the Pigmented Lesion Group of University of Pennsylvania is also discussed here. Finally, the chapter discusses about Maine, the Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Pathology Services, Inc.
