Abstract

This chapter draws from a case study grounded in emergent models for community-campus partnerships and leadership development within a framework of empowerment and anti-racism. A resident-led neighborhood collaborative and the graduate leadership program of a local university developed a hybrid model of participatory action research (PAR) and community development (CD) that guided their two-year collaboration. The effort produced a sustainability-focused strategic plan and documentation of the collaborative's unique leadership/community development values and practices.
