From Evertoys to LEGO: Exploring Sustainable Development Models in the Toy Industry

Todays, the issue of environmental instability and destructive environmental behavior can leave many irreparable effects and damage on future ecosystems and the lives of future generations. Method: This study aimed to present an environmental model of sustainable development in the Iranian gas industry. The present study used a qualitative with grounded theory method. In-depth interviews were conducted with 25 academic experts (professors of public administration and environmental engineering at universities in Mazandaran province) and the heads of the National Iranian Gas Company in five regions of Iran using the rich information sampling method. Results: The results indicated that the environmental model of sustainable development in the Iranian gas industry had 15 dimensions in terms of causal conditions. 1. Services, 2. Safety and health requirements, 3. Social responsibility, (context condition) 4. Education and learning, 5. Acculturalization, 6. Managers' attitude and awareness (intervening conditions) 7. Contractors, 8. Technical facilities and equipment, 9. Technology and technical operations (Strategy) 10. Medium and long term policies of the Ministry of Energy, 11. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of project progress, 12. Consumption management programs, 13. Pollutants management programs and consequences 14. Improved environmental performance of the gas company and 15. Moving towards sustainable development. Conclusion: Since the gas industry is one of the most polluting industries and the lack of attention to environmental issues in this huge industry will lead the Iranian environment to very serious and perhaps irreparable crises, using the environmental model of sustainable development in this industry seems highly important and necessary.

In the context of global sustainable development, the fashion accessories industry is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. With the increasing environmental awareness of consumers and the global emphasis on environmental protection, sustainable development has become an inevitable trend for the fashion accessories industry. This paper conducts an in-depth study on the current status and practices of sustainable development in the fashion accessories industry, including the widespread application of environmentally friendly materials, the green optimization of production processes, and the active fulfillment of corporate social responsibility. Through case analysis of leading companies in the industry, the paper summarizes successful experiences in sustainable development and makes scientific predictions for future market trends. Finally, the paper proposes strategies to promote sustainable development in the industry, aiming to provide references for fashion accessories companies to achieve green transformation in the global market and help the industry move towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future.

This analysis explores the different elements that constitute sustainable supply chains used by companies as genre on the road to sustainable development across different industries. The analysis of a body of literature and empirical data is carried out by a critical objective to determine the fundamental aspects of sustainability practices. The research suggests that we should have the necessary knowledge of these drivers for the stage to be raised of the environmental responsibility, social equity and economic development. Strategies are detailed to enable stakeholders throughout industries in adopting sustainable supply chain methods. Through this process, the long-term resilience of supply chains and the sustainability of the profitable position are promoted. The results are of this type, clarifying the crucial role of sustainable supply chain in reaching the global sustainability targets and promoting sustainability model for the companies and societies all over the world. Through this research we strive to add to the already established supplies chain management literature and aid the change process management in the pursuit of sustainable development in the different industries. Result of the cocreation with this domain has brought up meaningful implications to the literature. One of the new concepts we are proposing is a dynamic setting for a three-level model serving as a tactical plan for strategic sustainable supply management. Value chain performance improvement for sustainable mango industry development in Pakistan

The article is devoted to the study of the formation of sustainable economic development of industrial enterprises. The purpose of the work is to identify the key factors and mechanisms contributing to the sustainable development of industrial enterprises in modern conditions. The paper examines the economic, social and environmental aspects of sustainable development, as well as their interrelationships. As a result of the research, the main directions of the formation of sustainable economic development of industrial enterprises have been identified, including the introduction of innovations, energy efficiency improvement, human capital development and environmental modernization of production. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the development of an integrated approach to the formation of sustainable development of industrial enterprises, taking into account the specifics of the current economic situation.

The sustainable development conundrum in gold mining: Exploring ‘Open, Prior and Independent Deliberate Discussion’ as a community-centered framework

The subject of the study is the Russian electronic industry as a strategically important sector that ensures national security and cybersecurity in all areas of activity. The relevance of the study is due to insufficient efficiency and consistency of the results of the existing monitoring of the development of the electronics industry, which is related to the lack of comprehensive information and analytical tools for diagnosis of indicators of sustainable development of industry. The purpose of the study is to develop a flexible situational approach to monitoring the electronics industry, taking into account the industry strategy to expand production of civilian products, as well as to justify the effectiveness of financing tools and increasing the sustainable development of the industry. As a result, a monitoring technique based on data from industry statistics, the Spark-Interfax information resource, and big data analytics for organizations in the electronics industry, with eventual industry aggregation, was developed. The sectoral structure was examined in accordance with the methodology, the market situation and business models were evaluated, and the risks and shortcomings of financing the sector were identified. The approach ensures monitoring of the transformation of the industry, creation of a fair competitive market, increase in the share of efficient private Russian companies and their integration into the global ecosystem. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the selection of sectoral assessment indicators, the use of information resources and big data technology, which provide regular diagnostics of the industry. The theoretical significance of the study is the development and adaptation of industry analysis to the specifics of the electronics industry, as well as the inclusion of sustainable development indicators. The results of the study are of practical significance for the professional Association of organizations of the radio-electronic industry of Russia, government regulators and private investors interested in operational information about the state and trends of the development of the industry and its financing tools.

Both exploitative and explorative innovations are needed for sustainable development in any industry, but balancing the two types is a delicate matter, and exploitation tends to be strongly prioritized in many industries. This is typically evident in project-based industries (PBIs), which are characterized by a fragmented supply chain and the delivery of one-off solutions in business projects. Realizing explorative innovations in this context is complex due to the need to transfer new knowledge between the organization developing the innovations and actors in inter-organizational business projects. The aim of this paper is to highlight areas in the management of explorative innovations developed outside business projects, to increase the understanding of where the specific market setting of PBIs might necessitate an adapted approach for successful realization. A case study of three innovation projects in organizations operating in PBIs have been conducted. The findings confirm that the major challenges lie in the transition between development project and business project. We highlight three aspects linked to this transition that require a flexible management approach: the assignation and acceptance of suitable responsibilities and roles, flexible support for the innovation process, and system acceptance. The findings may provide guidance for actors in PBIs strategically seeking to promote sustainable development, and provide foundations for further research to develop support for explorative innovation.

The paper presents the results of the analysis of state policy realization regarding sustainable development of industry in Mongolia. The study gives the reason for recovery of macroeconomics stability (in the short term) and transfer to a more stable and diversified economy model (in the longer term) as well as on the basis of the Russian experience necessity of using modern forms of regional industry organization. Consequently, it is explained the essentiality of structural changes, development of financial intermediation, investment in infrastructure and regional integration with the purpose of increase the level of regions interconnection and access to foreign markets. The purpose of the research is to define priority activities of the economic growth as well as measures focused on improvement of state management concerning sustainable industry development in Mongolia. To this effect there are used monographic and economic statistic research methods. It is concluded that relating to definite countries and regions taking into account the peculiarities it is advisable to explore the system of indexes, capable of measuring the results (and estimating efficiency) of sustainable development of economics industries. Thus, economic growth in Mongolia is possible only as a subject to partnership relations with the countries that have innovation technologies, know-how and attracting finance from foreign investors. Thereupon sustainable development of Mongolian industry, including mining industry depends on such factor as a possibility of application of the high technology in traditional economic activity, digital transformation of the industry, increase of human capital, environmental conditions. There are defined the conditions of realization of sustainable development strategy of Mongolian industry, for example forming territorial innovation industrial clusters and assuring effective cooperation between government, business and society at the regional level. There are proposed the measures regarding improvement of institutional environment of Mongolian industry. There are specified the tasks necessary to be solved for the purpose of setting the regions of industrial development and complex industrial planning.

The purpose of this study is to determine the interests of stakeholders and their influence on the strategic guidelines for the sustainable development of industrial enterprises in the Russian fuel and energy complex. Environmental safety is one of the components of the corporate strategy implementation for the sustainable development of industrial enterprises. The significance of this component is determined not so much by the regulatory institutional impact as by the transformation of economic agents’ behavior in the market: consumers, partners, investors, competitors who are stakeholders. This study defines the composition of stakeholders for Russian industrial enterprises leading in the field of sustainable development based on the results of ESG-ratings. It also identifies their priority interests and the sustainable development goals of industrial companies. Based on the analysis of open reports on the sustainable development of Russian industrial enterprises, the article identifies the key goals of sustainable development for stakeholders of Russian industrial enterprises in the fuel and energy complex. An analysis of the mechanism for organizing interaction with stakeholders shows that for most stakeholder groups, interaction is implemented through the non-financial reporting of companies. The study concludes that a proactive approach will enable companies to identify sustainable development issues with the greatest long-term potential, and thus to create a system of preventive strategic action.

Purpose The purpose of the research is to identify the key factors for the sustainable development of the industrial sectors of the region and the possibilities for stimulating these factors in the context of digitalization. Design/methodology/approach The systemic (multiple) dependencies of each of the indicators of sustainability of the industrial industries of the studied regions with the entire set of indicators reflecting the influence of digitalization factors are established using the regression analysis method. Based on the obtained multiple linear regression, a scenario analysis is carried out: the necessary combination of digitalization factors is determined, which is necessary to achieve each of the three priorities of sustainable development of industrial sectors of the region separately: increase in production, business profits and employment. After that, optimization is carried out: a combination of factors is determined, which allows you to simultaneously realize all three priorities. Findings On the example of the top 10 industrial regions of Russia, it has been proved that the key factors for the sustainable development of industrial industries in the region are the share of enterprises using electronic document management (should be upgraded to 16.8%), the share of enterprises using the Internet (should be upgraded to 67.9%), and the share of enterprises using special software tools for training personnel (should be upgraded to 94.5%). Originality/value It is justified that the management of these factors allows to significantly increase the stability of the development of industrial sectors of the region, increasing their production to 6.6% per year, profit to 1399.7% per year and employment to 6.3% per year, which can be achieved due to the general promotion of digitalization of industrial enterprises.

Achieving sustainable development of the coal industry is of strategic importance for ensuring national security. The purpose of the article is to identify stress factors for the sustainable development of the coal industry associated with the current objective trends in the Russian and world economies. The hypothesis of the study is the assumption that understanding the stress factors for the sustainable development of the coal industry makes it possible to form industrial policy directions to prevent the development or minimize the consequences of existing negative trends that weaken the industry's potential in the long term. The novelty of the study is expressed in the approach to the analysis of sustainable development factors, since most researchers do not separate risk factors and stress factors. When describing stress factors, the following groups were identified: financial, human, technological, political, and environmental. In the study of stress factors, a context-oriented approach was used. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the main stress factors for the sustainable development of the Russian coal industry are associated not only with the implementation of decarbonization programs for world economies, but also with a number of intra-system problems in the development of the industry. Among the latter, the problems of reducing domestic consumption of coal, increasing freight rates for rail transportation, a high degree of import dependence of coal mining against the background of a low level of innovative potential of domestic engineering, the presence of personnel problems in coal mining, etc. The Russian government's Program 2035 does not take into account a number of stress factors caused by the current trends in the development of interconnected and related industries and areas of activity. Proceeding from this, measures aimed at increasing the sustainability of the development of the coal industry are proposed. The conclusion is made about the need to identify and assess stress factors in the formation of industrial policy directions. The practical results of the study can be used to develop measures to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the coal industry and the choice of tools to respond to risks provoked by stress factors.

China has issued several strict policies since 2008 to regulate and adjust the real estate industry, which would have substantial effect on the sustainable development of the industry. The effects seem have already showed by the great reduction of profit of leading companies and bankruptcy of small ones. So, study on the effect the strict regulating policies, from the prospect of sustainable development, has great meaning for government and its decision making. The previous theories mostly emphasized on the levels of several financial indexes in order to conclude the prospect of the industry, for example the profitability, liquidity and asset-liability ratio. But actuality shows even the company, with high profitability and low asset-liability ratio, would occur to bankrupt in the near future. Therefore, we must emphasize the operation efficiency of the industry or leading companies, which can conduct us to research the development of industry in near future. DEA has been successfully used for predicting one company’s bankruptcy. In this paper we would use the model for 20 leading real east companies whose operation would stand for the whole industry’s status mostly. The result shows there is great difference in the conclusion between DEA and the traditional manners.

Purpose: This study is aimed to identify the leading factors for the tourism industry sustainable development in a less developed country. Design/Methodology/Approach: Sustainable development can be defined as a process of economic and social changes as well as an agreed and coordinated process of natural resource exploitation, direction of investment, scientific and technological development, personal development and institutional change enhance the present and future potential of human needs. In this paper, we have tried to show the factors contributing to the development of the tourism industry. These recommendations make it possible to promote the sustainable development and rapid resuscitation of the tourism industry. In many ways it is about ensuring the quality of life of people. The design of the article includes theoretical explanations regarding sustainable development with emphasis in the tourism industry. Findings: There are proposed more effective policies promoting the industry in addition to specific projects improving the infrastructure and the social feelings about tourism Practical Implications: It was defined a set of measures that can have a positive impact, able to influence the industry in a positive way regarding its direct and indirect effects in the state, regional and local economies of tourism destinations. Originality/Value: This is an important contribution describing and identifying issues related to the Georgian tourism sector. It is a valuable piece of information for policy-makers to adopt the studies proposals for the further sustainable development of the industry.

There is a tendency in the world to preserve natural resources, because they are not limitless and exhaustible. Therefore, the strategy of sustainable development of the hotel industry, whose main activity is aimed at conserving natural resources - is a highly profitable business that can provide a significant contribution to the growth of gross domestic product at relatively low cost and short payback period. The aim of the article is to study the impact of the hotel industry on the natural and socio-cultural components of the environment. Identification of trends in the interaction of systems in accordance with modern concepts of sustainable development. It is substantiated that the concept of sustainable development of the tourism industry focuses on three aspects: economic, environmental and socio-cultural. It is established that hotels that use the strategy of sustainable development seek to reduce their impact on the environment through measures such as energy conservation, waste reduction and water conservation. In addition, hotels appeal to the environmental awareness of their guests, urging them to reuse towels and refrain from using disposable amenities. It has been proven that by implementing these measures, hotels contribute to the preservation of the environment and sustainable development, while attracting travelers who support this concept. Solutions already in use around the world include façade photovoltaic modules that convert high-rise walls into solar power plants. Energy savings can be achieved with modern full-fledged heating systems that use solar energy or other renewable energy sources. Ukraine is trying to use the rich resources of high-quality geothermal water. It is determined that the main directions of implementation of sustainable development strategies by hotel enterprises with an emphasis on eco-innovation in Ukraine are: development of modern tourist information infrastructure and hospitality industry; marketing promotion of exclusive eco-oriented hotel products on the Ukrainian and international tourist markets; improving the level of service and quality of hotel services; educational activities and scientific and educational support for the sustainable development of the industry and the activities of resorts; intensification of sustainable development of domestic hotel enterprises.
