Abstract

In this paper, we use static beam functions under point load as admissible functions and the Rayleigh-Ritz method to study the problem of the flexural vibration of thin, isotropic rectangular plates under elastic point support. The admissible functions are determined based on the boundary conditions of the plate. Some numerical results of rectangular plates are carried out and discussed. This method may be used to tackle typical plate problems with elastic point supports and gives more accurate and faster convergent numerical results compared with other available research documents.
