Abstract

AbstractAttempts to prepare pure samples of the conarachin I and II fractions of groundnut protein by fractional precipitation are described. Although pure conarachin I has been prepared, all attempts to purify conarachin II have so far been unsuccessful. Methods for isolating pure arachin without the use of ammonium sulphate are also outlined. It has been shown that the precipitation limits of a protein with ammonium sulphate are modified by the presence of other proteins.
