Abstract

As always, the 'older people' forums were prominent at RCN Congress, trying to ensure that issues affecting older people were kept in the spotlight. Contributions were made in the main hall debates on many topics, including specialism versus generalism in nursing, the future of pre-registration programmes and covert administration of medication. A discussion about non-judgmental care was an opportunity to highlight how implicit ageism was still rife in health services.
