Abstract

Orally fast dissolving sublingual film gives fast patients compliance over other conventional dosage forms. It gives quick onset of action, ease of administration. This formulation is suitable for anti-emetic formulation since it released the drug fast and this sort of formulation does not need water to take formulation ultimately it acts as boon as antiemetic formulation. It gives immediate action. It places in the oral cavity and dissolved in the saliva and gives quick action. In this research an attempt is made to prepare oral films using polymers, plasticizers, flavors, and sweeteners. The manufacturing methods of the film used are solvent casting, and various evaluations were performed on sublingual films. The film was characterized for various physicochemical properties such as, physical appearance- transparent, surface texture, weight uniformity, in vitro disintegration time, thickness, folding endurance, % elongation. For the formulation of best formulation initially five batches were prepared out of these batches batch code SF 5 was selected for the final formulation. The SF 5 shows better result. The prepared film proved to be potential candidate for safe and effective fast dissolving drug delivery for entrapped anti emetic drug.
