Abstract
The article outlines the main provisions of work on formation of the regional segment of the spatial data infrastructure of the Russian Federation on the territory of Chelyabinsk region. For this purpose, the author studied the needs of ministries and departments in spatial data, the problems of spatial data infrastructure (SDI) and ways to solve them, and also the main works of the subjects of the Russian Federation on the formation of the regional segment of SDI. The features and the model of the regional SDI were proposed, taking into account the main measures for the creation and development of SDI in Chelyabinsk region.
