The whole field of European folk and regional dancing has hardly been touched on, and there is a vast body of information on the dances of the Orient which has not been assembled for this volume. But perhaps it would be outside the scope of a single book to include this material. Certainly this is without doubt an excellent work and it should in time become as familiar and as frequently consulted as Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians.
