Abstract

Switching power supply (power adapter) is used to convert high voltage alternating current into low voltage direct current. Pulse-width modulating (PWM) is one of the most popular methods to design switching power supply. In order to control the output signals, the duty cycle of the fixed pulse period can be changed by PWM to make the MOSFET tube on or off. Using FAN6754A as the core integrated circuit, a novel flyback switching power supply based on the PWM principle is designed in this paper. The proposed switching power supply has simpler circuit and higher accuracy. Different input voltage ranges and output voltages required by different electric appliances can be well satisfied. Meanwhile, some other functions, such as overload protection and over-voltage protection, are achieved to upgrade the practicality. Experiment results show that the key parameters, such as the proposal output voltage, the no-load loss, the whole efficiency, can all meet the requirement of some general applications.
