Abstract
Studies of fluxon tunneling rates between Fiske steps of long Josephson junctions show weak temperature dependence between 1 K and 0.012 K. This system provides a double well where transitions between macroscopic resistive states are governed mainly by quantum mechanical tunneling with dissipation reducing the rate of tunneling events.
