Abstract
Introduction: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is associated with poor survival despite aggressive treatment. Gross total resection (GTR, resection of >90% enhancing tumour on MRI) is recognised as an important prognostic factor. Intra-operative fluorescence of GBM using 5-ALA can be used to define the tumour and assist to achieve GTR.
