Abstract
We report about the design, fabrication and properties of wavelength division multiplex module with large core multimode optical polymer waveguides. The module is assembled from multimode planar optical 1×2 Y splitter embedded with multilayered dielectric filters and connected with large core plastic fibers. The splitter was designed by beam propagation method using BeamPROP software for connecting input and outputs large core standard plastic optical fiber with 1 mm core diameter. Optically clear UV photopolymer was used as core optical waveguide layer and poly(methyl methacrylate) were used as substrate and protection cover. Thin film filters, plastic filters and foil filters were applied for wavelength division multiplexing at 532/650 nm.
