Abstract

A proposal passed by the U.S. House of Representatives May 15 would provide $3 billion in emergency funds allocated to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for states and local communities to address mental health and addiction services during the COVID‐19 crisis. The $3 trillion proposal for H.R. 6800, the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act (HEROES Act), is considered “Phase Four” in the series of stimulus and relief packages following the COVID‐19 crisis.
