Abstract

The paper presents a novel fault tolerant-reconfigurable control (FTRC) scheme based on condition monitoring and fault diagnosis (CMFD) for inherent dynamic change and anticipated faults of a mass-spring system. The strategy of the FTRC is that the four pre-designed controllers are switched according to the results of CMFD and reconfigurable logic. Simulations demonstrate that the control scheme can effectively and rapidly accommodate the inherent dynamic alternation and the break of spring in the plant, and the controlled system is stable and has a good tracking performance of position and velocity.
