Abstract

This study is focused on the fatigue life prediction model of the amorphous glassy polymers by alternating different parameters on the experimental results. The mechanism of fatigue failure was investigated through scanning electron microscopy. Respected to the different temperature conditions different regions of fracture were observed consisting of the thermal and mechanical zones. The proposed model is based on the cumulative evolution of micro-defects up to the rupture. In this regard, different constant parameters depending on the material, temperature, and frequency were considered. According to the results, the model showed a good ability to predict the fatigue life of the polymers.
