Abstract

The maritime field is, like many other fields, an interrelationship between technology and the human factor. And as it is predictable, the human factor holds the leading role. As Dr. Anita M. Rothblum says, „The maritime system is a people system‟, and human errors are often the starting point for different accidents. Among the large array of factors leading to human errors when facing a situation or a decision onboard ship, fatigue is one of the main disruptive cause.
