Abstract

The paper summarizes the main conclusions and recommendations from the report of Committee III.2 Fatigue and Fracture to the International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress (ISSC) 2006. The report reviewed more than 200 recent publications on the subject and summarized the main findings and trends, mainly within the areas of; Current Design Practice, Practical Use and Implementation of Fatigue Results, Fabrication, Inspection and Fitness for Service, Application of Non-Traditional Materials and Fabrication and Design Alternatives. The report also made recommendations for future work. For the whole report it is referred to the ISSC 2006 proceedings.
