Abstract
Summary Increased numbers of fat storage cells appear in the livers of rats subjected to chronic protein deficiency. The accumulation of lipid in these cells may be related to a low con-centration of enzymes required for fat catabolism. The derivation of the cells is unknown; some evidence is presented for a possible reticuloendothelial origin
