Abstract
In this article, Edward McDonough III examines the relationship between speed of new product development and technology, on the one hand, and characteristics of project leaders and project team members, on the other. The reported results suggest that the speed with which new products are developed is affected by the type of work undertaken on the project, i.e., its technology and the characteristics of both project leaders and the project team. However, the characteristics that affect speed differ for different types of projects and are different for team members and the team leader.
