Abstract

This paper presents a fast optimal setting method for transformers with line drop compensator and step voltage regulator considering interconnection of distributed generators. The optimal setting problem can be formulated as a large combinatorial optimization problem, in which the setting value of voltage control equipment is utilized as state variables. The conventional optimal setting method, which the authors have developed, requires a long time to generate optimal setting values when several voltage control equipment should be considered. On the other hand, the proposed method can generate optimal setting values in a few minutes even in such a situation. The feasibility of the proposed method is demonstrated on practical distribution system models with promising results.
