Farmer Institutions are organizations established and developed by farmers to strengthen and advocate for their interests. However, farmer groups are often less effective as learning platforms for farming activities, necessitating institutional strengthening. This study aims to identify internal and external factors and formulate strategies to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Lalang Tinting I Farmer Group in Paenre Lompoe Village, Gantarang District, Bulukumba Regency. This research adopts a qualitative approach with descriptive data analysis and purposive informant selection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving 10 informants. The results indicate that internal factors consist of 7 strengths and 4 weaknesses, with a total score of 3.54, while external factors include 3 opportunities and 2 threats, with a total score of 3.28. Based on the IE matrix analysis, the Lalang Tinting I Farmer Group falls in quadrant I (Grow and Build strategies). The SWOT analysis produced four alternative strategies: SO, WO, ST, and WT. This study highlights the importance of institutional strengthening through optimizing strengths and opportunities, addressing weaknesses, and mitigating threats. Strengthening strategies are expected to enhance the capacity of farmer groups, foster collaboration, and support sustainable agriculture in the region

The objectives of the research on Beef Cattle Business Development Strategy Based on Scale of Ownership and Income Level of Farmers in South Parigi Subdistrict, Parigi Moutong Regency are to determine the income of farmers at different ownership scales, determine the internal and external factors of beef cattle rearing and formulate alternative beef cattle development strategies. This research was conducted in a group of farmers in South Parigi Subdistrict, Parigi Moutong Regency in July 2024. The types of data used in this research are quantitative data and qualitative data. Data analysis used income analysis, RC ratio, analysis of external internal environmental factors and SWOT analysis. The results showed that beef cattle business income at the scale of 3-5 heads amounted to Rp.11,354,055 (R/C = 1.49), ownership scale of 6-10 heads amounted to Rp. 25,595,846 (R/C = 1.69) and scale above 10 heads amounted to Rp. 80,732,744 (R/C = 1.41). The position of the beef cattle farming business based on the IE matrix analysis is in the second quadrant with a total internal factor score of 2.73 and a total external factor score of 3.08, so the right strategy to do is the growth and build strategy.

The purpose of this research are : (1) to describe the characteristics of the SHK Lestari group in the Wan Abbdurahman-Hurun forest of Pesawanan district, Lampung Province; (2) identifying internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and threats); (2) to formulate alternative of empowerment strategy of SHK farmer group. The methodology used is the analysis of IFE, EFE and IE matrix which is processed quantitatively and SWOT matrix which is processed qualitatively. The results obtained that the empowerment conducted by SHK Lestari farmer groups can be categorized as an independent group with strong group dynamics, directed to clear group objectives. Empowerment strategies based on IE matrix that farmer groups must run are market penetration, product development, product development, backwand integration, forwand integration and horizontal integration. From the analysis of IFE and EFE factors poured into the SWOT matrix the crucial factor to be considered in the SHK Lestari farmers empowerment strategy is to use the power to exploit the opportunity (S-O) in the highest scoring. Implementation of SHK Lestari farmer empowerment strategy strategy based on IE and SWOT matrix description, the steps to be taken are as follows; 1) Increase the knowledge and skills of more trained farmers to be able to survive and manage agricultural land independently and sustainably, 2) Utilizing NGO assistance, especially in terms of development, training and assistance of SHK Lestari group facilities, 3). Maximize KUB performance and leverage the development of web technologies and transportasi facilities for the development of group farming marketing.

SME Center Development Strategy Langkat Furniture in an Effort to Increase Competitiveness with SWOT Analysis and QSPM

The construction of an SME center is an alternative for the Langkat Regency government to develop the furniture industry. Until now, SME centers have not shown economic development and activity as expected. A prospective strategy to analyze internal and external environmental factors related to development, competitiveness and existence needs to be owned by SME centers. This research aims to analyze internal and external factors, as well as develop alternative strategies for developing the Langkat Furniture SME center. The analysis tools used are the SWOT matrix and QSPM. Previous research did not determine a development strategy for the small industrial sector which focused on centers built by the government with the concept of artificial development. Respondents in this study were SMEs and government employees who knew the conditions of the centers as a whole. The results of the IE matrix analysis show the position of SME centers in quadrant I, namely belonging to the category of growth through vertical integrity. The formulation of alternative strategies from matching each internal and external factor in the SWOT matrix resulted in 9 strategies. The results of the IE and SWOT matrix assessment and analysis of the strategies formulated show that the strategies required regarding the development of SME centers are intensive, namely market penetration, product development and market development. The QSPM analysis displays strategic decisions that are priorities according to the conditions of the Langkat Furniture SME center, namely the commitment of the local government in developing the center.

Development Strategy of Kemiri Tourism Village in Jember Regency

Abstract: Kemiri village is a village in the western part of Jember district exactly on the slopes of Mount Argopuro that is well-known with The Tancak Waterfall. Kemiri Village is very strategic with fresh air condition that makes Kemiri Village become one of the tourist destinations in East Java, especially in Jember Regency. Purpose: The research aims to identify the potential and the existing conditions in Kemiri Tourism Village, identify internal and external factors in the development of Kemiri Village Tourism, and formulate the main or grand strategies and alternative strategies as well as programs that be able to implement on the process of development Kemiri Village Tourism. Design/Methodology/Approach: The data collection techniques use observations, interviews, documentation, focus group discussions, library studies, and questionnaires. Also, the data analysis techniques use qualitative descriptive, IFAS, EFAS, IE and SWOT Matrix Analysis Findings: Based on the results of IFAS Matrix Analysis, the internal factors that became the main strength of the Kemiri Village Tourism is about ‘Kemiri Village Tourism social capital and participation of the community’ with a score 0,364. Also, the main weakness of the Kemiri Village Tourism about ‘unscheduled services in tourism activities’ with a score 0,032. On the result of EFAS Matrix Anlysis, it shows that the main opportunity of the Kemiri Village Tourism is ‘open the employment opportunities around tourist attractions’ with a score 0,300. Also, the main threat of the Kemiri Village Tourism is ‘decrease the value and local wisdom’ and ‘conversion of agricultural land for tourism needs’ with each score 0,029. The main strategy based on the IE Matrix analysis that can be implemented by the Kemiri Village Tourism are hold and maintain means the market penetration and the product development. The alternative strategies from the results of SWOT Matrix Analysis obtained as many as 13 strategies with programs formulated on each of these strategies.

Institutional strengthening can be used as a solution to improve performance of farmer groups, therefore a strategy for institutional strengthening of farmer groups is needed in agroforestry farming development. The study aimed to analyze strategic factors, examine various alternative strategies, and formulate strategic priority recommendations as an effortto strengthen farmer groups in agroforestry farming development. The study was conducted at Sodonghilir District - Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java Province from April to August 2018. Data were analyzed using Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat (SWOT) and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) analysis. The results showed that the institutional weakness of farmer groups affected the success of agroforestry farming development in Sodonghilir District. Based on this research, it can be concluded that internal and external factors are two strategic factors that must be used as the basis for the formulation of two priority strategies from six alternative strategies for institutional strengthening of farmer group in agroforestry farming. The two priority strategies are increasing human resources capacity as well as increasing farmer groups’ role in agroforestry farmingdevelopment. Therefore, it is recommended that farmer groups, national and regional governments to prioritize these two of institutional strengthening strategies in agroforestry farmingdevelopment

 An organization must have a careful planning and strategy. Strategy is very influential on organizational development. This study aims to determine the internal and external factors that influence the development of Argoayuningtani farmer groups in organic tomato farming. Method research that is used is the analysis of SWOT to identify factors internal and external are then analyzed using matrix IFE, EFE, SWOT, IE, and QSP.The results of the study based on the analysis of the IFE matrix get the main strengths that are according to SOP/ GAP/ GHP and good quality Human Resources of members with a score of 0.268,while the main weakness is having a planting plan but not yet implementing it with a score of 0.118 and obtaining a total score of 2.941 means that the Argoayuningtani farmer group has a strong internal position. Based on the EFE matrix analysis, the main opportunity is the active role of the instructor with a weight score of 0.352 while the main threat is land adjacent to conventional land with a score of 0.252 and a total score of 3.021 means that the external position of the farmer group is above average. In IE matrix analysis Argoayuningtani farmer group is in cell II which means that Argoyuningtani farmer group is in a position of growing and developing. Whereas based on QSP matrix analysis, it is found that the priority of development strategies that can be applied in the Argoayuningtani farmer group is to improve human resource skills to realize the goals with the highest STAS value of 6.20.

The strategy of farmers’ economic institution for managing organic rice marketing based on local wisdom

Strengthening institutional farmers in organizing marketing is one of the efforts to improve the bargaining position of organic rice farmers. Currently, strong Farmers’ Economic Institutions include farming activities from upstream to downstream, nurtured and developed by farmers relying on local wisdom. Thus, Farmer’s Economic Institution must be adapted to the culture, regional potential, market potential and policies of the applicable organic farming system, to increase the capacity. This study therefore aims to identify internal and external factors in managing organic rice marketing within Pangudi Bogo Farmer Group, in Boyolali District, using a qualitative descriptive data analysis, with IFE, EFE, IE, and SWOT matrix. According to the IFE matrix analysis, adequate facilities and infrastructure are the greatest strengths, while the biggest weaknesses are unattractive product packaging and labels. In addition, the greatest opportunity is the development of information and communication technology to support marketing activities, while the biggest threat is fake organic product claims. Also, the IE matrix analysis shows the Pangudi Bogo farmer group’s marketing position is in quadrant V, meaning a keep and maintain strategy is required.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, the marketing of sweet potato chips produced by CV Mitra Mandiri has become limited. The purpose of this research is to analyze the internal and external factors in the marketing of sweet potato chips, to develop alternative marketing strategies for sweet potato chips, and to determine the appropriate marketing strategy for sweet potato chips. This research utilizes the IE Matrix (Internal-External), SWOT Matrix (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) analysis. The results of the IE Matrix analysis indicate that CV. Mitra Mandiri in cell V can implement strategies to survive and sustain itself. Based on alternative strategies, the priority strategy with the highest value of 7.57 is to enhance human resources for market control of sweet potato chips through digital marketing.

Arabica Coffee Agribusiness Development Strategy in The Tegal Subur Farmers Group Tegalmulyo Village Kemalang District Klaten Regency

Arabica coffee is one of the leading plantation commodities in Tegalmulyo Village, Kemalang District, Klaten Regency. Tegal Subur Farmers Group is one of the active farmer groups in Tegalmulyo Village that manages the cultivation and post harvest of arabica coffee. Studies on the strategy for developing arabica coffee agribusiness by farmer groups are still limited, especially in the Klaten area. The purpose of this research was to determine the internal and external factors that influence the development of Arabica coffee agribusiness in the Tegal Subur Farmers Group and to formulate alternative strategies for developing arabica coffee agribusiness in the Tegal Subur Farmers Group, Tegalmulyo Village, Kemalang District, Klaten Regency. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with primary and secondary data. Determination of respondents by census with a total of 24 members of the Tegal Subur Farmers Group. The analysis tools used include the IFE and EFE Matrices, the IE Matrix and the SWOT Matrix. The results showed that the total score of the IFE Matrix was 2,913, while the total score of the EFE Matrix was 2,886. Analysis of the strategic position with the IE Matrix shows that the strategic position is in cell V, namely the area of implementation of the strategy of maintaining and preserving. Internal and external factors analyzed use SWOT Matrix, produces 11 alternative strategies. The right alternative strategy to be implemented for the development of arabica coffee agribusiness in the Tegal Subur Farmers Group is that the farmer group completes PIRT on the packaging of ground coffee products.

Kinerja Gabungan Kelompok Tani Kasus: Kabupaten Lampung Selatan Provinsi Lampung

<p><em>The objectives of this research were to identify the internal and external factors related to Gapoktan performance and also to analyst the relation among the internal and external factors. The research conducted in March-May 2010 in South Lampung regency Lampung Province, the data were collected by interview technique using questionners to key persons. A number of 184 farmer groups respondents participated were randomized sampling from 20 sample of Gapoktan. Descriptive statistic and rank Spearman Correlation Test from SPSS 17.00 were used to analize the data. The result showed that internal factors such as farmer group activity, farmer group cohessivity, interaction among farmer group, the structure of Gapoktan’s organization, and leadership had positive and significant correlation with Gapoktan performance. While the position of farmer group, farmer group participation, and desicion making process had non significant correlation with Gapoktan performance. The external factors such as goverment policy, relationship with the other institution, capital loan, and extension intensity had positive and significant correlation with Gapoktan performance. Meanwhile, the change agent (PPL) performance had non significant correlation with Gapoktan performance. Most of variable both internal and external factors had a positive and significant relation to each others.</em></p><p><em>Keywords</em>: <em>performance, associatian of farmer group, Gapoktan</em></p>

This study aimed to analyzed development strategies that can be applied to ginger processed product in Jenawi District, Karanganyar Regency. Data collected by interview and field observation. Data was analyzed using the IE and SWOT matrix analysis. The Mukti Rahayu Women's Farmer Group was founded in 2009 to process emprit ginger production into instant ginger products and fill in the activities of housewives around the group environment. In addition, the formation of groups also aimed to improve the economic standard of the surrounding community. The results of the identification of internal and external factors were analyzed using the IFE and EFE matrices with a total weight score of 2.91 and 3.11, respectively. These results occupied quadrant II in the IE matrix (growth position). Several alternative strategies were formulated including: adding members and increasing instant ginger production, increasing production scale to meet export demand, tightening QC to maintain quality and expanding offline and online markets, and maximizing the application and use of technology in marketing, accounting and financial records.

<p><em>The declining interest of the younger generation in agriculture is the main factor of decreasing farmers in Indonesia. The decline is due to several factors, including youth’s assessment that the agricultural sector is unprofitable, less prestigious, and synonymous with poverty. It is necessary to know young farmers’ strategies who are still surviving in the agribusiness sector. This strategy can be used as a reference for young farmers individually or in groups in carrying out agribusiness activities. The Katenzo community is a farmer group in the Pangalengan sub-district consisting of young farmers. The Katenzo community has 13 members engaged in the horticulture sub-sector agribusiness, 13 members will be the informant in this case. This study aims to identify various internal and external factors that affect horticultural agribusiness development in the Katenzo Community. The research was conducted using qualitative methods with case study techniques to find out various in-depth data according to the object’s conditions and uniqueness. The research data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature study, then be analyzed using the IFAS, EFAS, IE, and SWOT matrix. Based on the results of the IFAS Matrix, the total score for the strengths and weaknesses of the Katenzo community is 2.564. The total score of the EFAS Matrix obtained from the threat and opportunity score is 2.534. The results of the IE Matrix show that the Katenzo Community is in cell V, namely Hold and Maintain.</em></p>

The analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive analysis, quantitative descriptive analysis, Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS) Matrix, External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS) Matrix, Internal-External Matrix (IE), and SWOT Analysis. The results showed that there were internal and external factors that influence marketing communication conducted by the marketing communication department at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali. Based on the results of IFAS matrix analysis, the main strengths are good relations with all partners, the media, influencers, guests and also the community, while the main weaknesses are responding to complaints and providing solutions to trip advisor reviews, OTA reviews and also social media. Based on the results of the EFAS matrix analysis, it is known that the main opportunity is technological development while the minor threats faced are The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali position in the competition and natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, floods, etc. The results of the IE matrix research showed the company position in the Growth (Cell V). SWOT analysis produces 6 alternative marketing communication strategies that can be used in building brand image.

Social capital has an essential impact on the development of social and economic aspects of society, especially farmers, who are the dominant profession in rural communities. Among the social capital that exists in society are relationships between individuals, social networks, trust, norms, participation, and cooperation. The purpose of this study is to identify internal and external factors and formulate a strategy for developing social capital-based farmer groups in Salimbatu Village, Tanjung Palas Tengah District, Bulungan Regency. The sample determination method used was purposive sampling, and the respondents in this study were 15 farmers as informants and three as key informants who were members of the Lubek Manis farmer group. The analysis used in this study is a SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat). Internal factors in the development of social capital-based farmer groups have a total strength score of 3.83. At the same time, the weakness has a total score of 3.12. At the same time, external factors in the form of opportunities have a total score of 3.56. At the same time, the threat has a total score of 3.30. Based on the SWOT analysis, aggressive strategies in the development of farmer groups are obtained, namely Increasing the frequency of counseling activities in the Lubek Manis farmer group, Establishing cooperation with several farmer groups, and Increasing mutual trust among members.

ANALYSIS OF COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE STRATEGY OF BADUY’S WOVEN FABRIC INDUSTRY

Abstract: Competition in the business world in Indonesia in the era of globalization is very strict at the national, regional and international levels. The success of SMEs in Indonesia is inseparable from the role of government and SMEs themselves in an effort to develop SME business activities to achieve competitive advantage. This study aims to analyze the differentiation strategy of Baduy’s woven fabrics as an effort to gain competitive advantage and alternative strategies that can be done to obtain a competitive advantage. Primary data is obtained by questionnaires and interviews with craft makers and local governments through the Department of Industry and Trade / SMI and the SME office. Secondary data is obtained from the Department of Industry and Trade. The technical data analysis used is descriptive quantitative method, through analysis of internal and external factors, SWOT analysis of matrix, space matrix and IE matrix. The results of the analysis using the SWOT matrix are obtained industrial position in an aggressive strategy alternative, by aggressive expansion and promotion. In Internal External Matrix (IE Matrix), results obtained from the position of the Baduy’s weaving industry are in quadrant V (five) with alternative concentration strategies through horizontal integration or stability strategies. SPACE Analysis matrix produces a position in quadrant I (one) with an aggressive strategy alternative. This research model is expected to be an input for the Lebak Regional Government for strategic alternatives in obtaining competitive advantages so that it can help increase the productivity of the Baduy tribe, and be able to contribute or add value in the family even in the regional economy. The research output is a strategy model of competitive advantage in the Baduy’s weaving industry.
