Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the thinking of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina about suicide and the reasons that could lead to the commission of this fatal act. Appreciating the specifics of puberty and adolescence, we included some high school students and faculties from Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to researching the respondent's family relationships, we also researched the level of influence of school, social and peer environment, and the local community on the personality of children and youth. Compared to previous years, when the elderly were the most prone to suicide, today the number of adolescent suicides has drastically increased. On the example of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where war conflicts were present, which caused a decline in economic development and at the same time led to an increase in unemployment and poverty, and the disintegration of families as the foundation of every society, this situation is reflected in educational institutions. and their potential -the inability to prevent or reduce delinquency and suicidal behavior in young people.
