Abstract
Background: Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells, on this noted therefore breast cancer has now become the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer related deaths among women in the Sub-Saharan Africa. The cancer incidence rate of (24%) and 50,000 deaths annually, stated that for the case of Uganda, breast cancer incidence rates almost doubled over the past 20 years. There is limited evidence on the factors which influence health care for breast cancer in Uganda. The purpose of the study was to explore the factors that influenced patient and system-related delays in health seeking, diagnosis and breast cancer treatment in Uganda.
