Abstract

Hierarchical structures composed of MoS2 nanosheets grown on Bi2S3 nanorods, were prepared via hydrothermal reaction. The innovative heterostructures with distinct porosity and close interfacial contact may enable effective visible-light utilization as well as permeable routes for reactant molecules to enter the inner structure. The Bi2S3@MoS2 heterostructure with 50% of MoS2 showed superior adsorption and photodegradation of Rhodamine B, reaching 97.5%. Toxic heavy metal ions and organic pollutants in water may be eliminated utilizing attractive heterostructures with excellent adsorption capacities and photocatalytic activities.
