Abstract

In this paper we report the results of OLED (organic light emitting diodes) fabricated using a completely vacuum free lamination method. Aluminum foil purchased from office supply stores is used as a cathode. Anodes are prepared from three different materials, Indium Thin Oxide (ITO), Fluorine doped Thin Oxide (FTO), and TC-07S (Denshi Kako, Co., LTD). Three anode materials were grown on three different types of substrates, glass, PET, and lamination plastic. Poly (9.9-dioctylfluorenyl) (PFO) which is used as an emissive layer was coated on pre-cleaned aluminum foil by spin coating method. The anode and cathode part are laminated under heated laminator at 130°C. We found that OLEDs fabricated using TC-07S as anodes and lamination plastics as substrates produce the best optical characteristics. The effect of TC-07S thickness on electrical characteristics was also examined. We found that the thicker the TC-07S layer caused higher currents level but not significantly increase the light intensity.
