Abstract
Natural fiber reinforced composites are gaining attention in recent days due to eco-friendly nature, sustainability, low cost and easy availability. The natural fibers are enriched with favorable mechanical properties which diversify artificial fibers are bio-degradable, nonhazardous, light weight. In this submission, specimens of the banana fiber reinforced epoxy composites are developed to evaluate the mechanical properties. The composite sample specimens are designated with different fiber orientations using the hand lay-up method. In this process, we layup the fiber with epoxy by applying pressure using a roller at room temperature. Initially simulation and analysis were carried out using ANSYS 15.0 software. In testing, the prepared samples were subjected to mechanical testing such as tensile, flexural and impact loading on Universal Testing Machine (UTM) and Impact Testing machine. The results obtained from simulation and experimentation were compared.
