Abstract

A curious phenomenon has been observed which can be understood only when assuming that the extraordinary MR does take place in non-ferromagnetic layers formed on surfaces of ferromagnetic metals. In this phenomenon, the maximum value corresponding to the MR ratio of the copper layer formed on a permalloy layer is estimated to be 46% of the permalloy layer.
