Abstract
Objective To observe the expression and significance of intratumor C-reactive protein (CRP) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC).Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the CRP expression in 40 eases of RCC and 20 cases of normal kidney tissue. Results The positive rate of CRP expression in RCC was 100% (strongly positve expression rate of 22.50%),and that was 0 in the normal kidney tissue was 0 (0/20) with the difference being statistically significant (P < 0.01).The expression of CRP in RCC was not related to the gender, age and histological classification (P > 0.05),but to different histological grade,TNM stage and metastases of RCC.Conclusion Intratumor CRP testing can help determine tumor invasiveness and prodict the prognosis of RCC.
