Abstract

Currently combining the transition-metal cation and organic amine anion is a useful strategy to design novel optical materials. In the work, (Morpholine)2SbCl5 with non-centrosymmetric structure has been synthesized by introducing Sb3+ cation with lone-pair electron into heterocyclic amine morpholine, and the single crystals were also obtained by solvent evaporation method. The colorless crystals of (Morpholine)2SbCl5 show the suitable thermal stability up to about 195 °C. In particular, the power SHG response of (Morpholine)2SbCl5 exhibits an intensity of approximately 0.28 × KDP. Further optical properties reveal that the absorption cutoff edge is about 394 nm corresponding to the band gap 3.00 eV, and the PL spectrum display yellow emission at 570 nm. All results indicate that (Morpholine)2SbCl5 is a multifunctional material in the areas of photoluminescence and nonlinear optics.
