Abstract

The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) widely applied in the world to evaluate the performance of students’ mathematics achievement. The study aims to determine the factors that influencing mathematics performance among university students in northern area in Malaysia. The 26-item self-report survey adapted from TIMSS 2011 context questionnaire and administered to 137 students in one of university in northern Malaysia. A factor analysis yield four factors, which liking, value, role of lecturer and confidence in learning mathematics
