Abstract

Experimental data on the dynamic thermal response of rooms given by a testing method based on pseudo-random binary sequences are presented. Results are obtained for two experimental configurations: a small test enclosure and an ordinary-sized room, and various tests have been carried out to determine the effects of ventilation, a different building fabric, the influence of internal air movement and different heating systems. Attention is drawn to the influence of noise and non-linearities on the experimental data, and from tests carried out by the step response method an explanation of the cause of the non-linearities is developed.
