Abstract
n tribological systems with high loads, leaded special brasses are preferably used because of their excellent wear properties. Axial piston pumps and motors are a good example of such systems. In order to be able to dispense with lead-containing materials in the future, alternative materials are being tested. The result of this development are three new lead-free special brass materials presented in this article. For these, the effect Abstract of surface roughness (fine/coarse) and the manufacturing process (fine grinding + vibratory grinding/ lapping + vibratory grinding) on the running-in behavior was investigated. The specifications for this are based on experience with the lead-containing reference material CuZn40Al2Mn2Si.
