Abstract
The bending performance of secant piles under lateral loading is crucial to the design of retaining wall with secant boring piles. The content percentage of ultra-retardation was determined in accordance with the requirements of strength and coagulation time of concrete by laboratory tests. By model tests, the bending performance of secant piles with reinforced concrete pile (RCP) and plain concrete pile (PCP) arranged alternatively (PRP form),was studied and the mechanical behavior as well as the effect of PCP on the bending capacity of secant piles from elastic to plastic stage had been achieved. This study aims to prove the validity and feasibility of considering bending contribution of PCP in the design of secant pile retaining wall in excavation.
