Abstract
Abstract The article presents the findings of experimental investigations into the two-stage punching-collar forming process. The conducted investigations provide an extensive knowledge basis for the design of the fully automated progressive tool and a detailed analysis. The knowledge gained will allow for design adjustments of the planned progressive forming tool and the schematic representation of the automated system. In addition, the initial correlations can be identified in the data analysis, which will enable the derivation of a data-driven process model. The findings of this research will enable precise predictions about process reliability and product quality, thereby serving the derivation of the optimisation approaches for the punching-collar forming process.
