Abstract

Summary Intradermal inoculation of rabbits with Herpesvirus cuniculi resulted in local erythematous lesions. Intracerebral inoculation produced histologically detectable inflammatory lesions in the nervous system of some rabbits and virus could be reisolated from the brain of one third of the animals, but no clinical symptoms were observed. Monkeys inoculated by various routes, in the presence of cortisone, failed to show any clinical symptoms or significant histological lesions attributable to the virus.
