Abstract
The effect of mineral acids on Mo electrothermal atomization atomic absorption signal (eaaas) was analyzed by the response surface method and by modeling Mo-graphite interactions using quantum mechanical calculations. A multivariate optimization approach was carried out using the Doehlert matrix and a cubic equation to approximate the experimental response. The results show that HCl and HNO 3 acids produce an enhancement of the Mo aa signal with respect to the nonacidified solution
